Dishin’ the Dirt:  Angels are Real...Just ask DWade!!!

When DWade found out that one of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas victims, 17 year old Joaquin Oliver, was not only a huge fan who was super stoked about his return to the 305 but had actually been buried in one of his Wade Miami Heat jerseys, the 3 time NBA World Champ took to twitter to pay his respects and remind those who feel that athletes should just “shut up and play” that its “bigger than basketball”, which is why he will NEVER just “Shut up and dribble”.  He went on to dedicate his return to the HEAT and the rest of his season to Joaquin.

Last night Wade took it a step further.  He wrote the fallen teens name on his game shoes and proceeded to have one of those legendary #3 games that reminded us all exactly why we call this WADE COUNTY!!!

According to our friends at the Palm Beach Post, he scored a season high 27 points on night, and 15 of the Heats final 17 points including the game winning jump shot with less than 6 seconds on the clock.  The Heat beat the Philadelphia 76ers 102-101.  But, as the Heat legend said in his tweet...it's so much bigger than basketball.

Even Wade’s wifey...the AMAZING Gabrielle Union, knew how BIG this was for South Florida in the wake of such terrible loss...

You ain’t lyin’ GAB...we did need this and it is BIGGER than basketball...in fact, its bigger than all of us and we need to make sure we keep the conversation going and the momentum moving in  the right direction!

Like Wade said on the gram...#WeGotMoreWorkToDo!!!!

PS...thanks for “W” Joaquin...we’d rather have all of you with us but its CLEAR we’ve got 17 Angels watching over us now!!! Sleep In Peace and know that WE as a community won’t ever stop fighting...#NEVERAGAIN!!!

Bless,

KimmyB
