'Galaxy Girl' Ashlee Simpson wins 'The Masked Singer,' Phillip Phillips comes in second

When Jessica Simpson came out on onstage during Wednesday night's finale of The Masked Singer, it confirmed the panelists' guesses as to the identity of the winner, Galaxy Girl. Jessica removed the contestant's mask, revealing that she was none other than Jessica's sister, Ashlee Simpson.

"I've literally had the best experience of my life here," Ashlee gushed. "I've grown so much here and I can't even believe I won." In a Masked Singer first this season, one of the people who Ashlee was competing against was Evan Ross, her husband, aka Stingray. As for what's next, Ashlee, who started doing a Las Vegas residency last year, said she plans to return to Vegas for more shows, and will then "write a new album."

And coming in second was another successful pop star: "Home" singer Phillip Phillips, the winner of American Idol season 11, unmasked as Pugcasso.  Only one panelist, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, got it right. "Your guesses were cracking me up the whole time," Phillip told the panelists. He also gave credit to his wife for "holding it down" at home with their kids while he did the show, and revealed that his son was rooting for Galaxy Girl.

Phillip has just released a new single called "Homesick," which he says is about "missing the people you love and the places that make you feel at home." He adds, "'Homesick', to me, is about realizing that the ordinary moments are actually the ones that mean the most when you're away from them."

In fourth place was yet another famous pop singer: Normani, formerly of Fifth Harmony, was revealed as Crane. Three out of the four judges got that one correct. "This was the best experience I ever could have asked for," she told the audience.
