A pig named Elvis. Elvis Pigsly.

“We’re all familiar with refrigerated bacon, we just never thought we’d respond to a call for service related to that topic,” the Anchorage Police Department wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

A neighbor alerted authorities to the porker, who was standing on the side of the road in the Fairview neighborhood of Anchorage and “looked cold.”

Officers were more than accommodating, and Elvis was more than happy to feel warm again.

For those with suspicious minds, the pig did not end up as a meal. After police took him to the station, Elvis left the building and was returned to his owners.

“As it turns out, the portly dude was quite friendly,” police wrote on Facebook. “You’ll be happy to know he has been reunited with his family and all is well.”

Thank you very much.
