EATON COUNTY, Mich. — A man and a 5-year-old girl are dead, and a 3-year-old boy is in critical condition following a Tuesday night shooting, Michigan authorities confirmed.
Eaton County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a Delta Township home around 11 p.m. and found the man, believed to be in his 40s, dead. First responders rendered medical aid to both children, who were shot, but the girl died in the home, MLive.com reported.
The man also appeared to have been shot, WLNS reported.
The boy, who was transported to an area hospital, remained in critical condition on Wednesday afternoon, but police believe no threat remains to the public, MLive.com reported.
None of the victims have been identified, and a neighbor told WLNS that the family has lived in the area for less than a year.
