KPNX says Tehanah Smith, 32, died Saturday after a boating accident at Lake Pleasant in Arizona. They say Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office was called out to the lake around 5 p.m. Deputies located Smith and rushed her to the hospital.

MCSO told KSAZ that Smith was airlifted to the hospital with a leg amputation and she was in critical condition. Deputies believe that Smith had jumped off the boat to help kids in the tube at the back of the boat and she was run over by the propeller. MCSO confirmed to KSAZ that Smith died hours later.

No foul play or impairment has been suspected. Deputies don’t believe water skiing was involved. No further information has been released.
