Dolphins Cancer Challenge Hits an Incredible $100 Million Milestone
A huge shoutout to our TV partners WSVN 7 and ABC-18 for helping the Dolphins Cancer Challenge reach an incredible milestone at Hard Rock Stadium this weekend.
The DCC has now raised $100 million for cancer research and patient care at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Miami. The Ansin family also donated an incredible $1 million to the cause.
And the best part? Every single dollar raised by the Dolphins Cancer Challenge directly benefits cancer research and patient care at Sylvester.
That’s $100 million making a difference right here in South Florida.
Your Dog Might Actually Be the Better Bedmate
If your dog sleeps in your bed, good news: You can officially stop blaming them every time you wake up tired.
A new study found that sharing a bed with your dog didn’t significantly affect how long or how well people slept.
In fact, researchers found that humans were usually the ones waking up and disturbing their dogs — not the other way around. People and their pups tended to sync up their movements throughout the night, but the humans usually moved first.
So apparently Luna and Hamilton have been innocent this entire time.
Science has spoken: We’re the annoying ones in bed.
Frosted Tips Are Back Because Apparently We Learned Nothing
Break out the cargo pants and find your old Walkman because frosted tips are making a comeback.
Yes. Those frosted tips.
Picture Lance Bass during peak *NSYNC. Or Guy Fieri…basically at any point in time.
The hairstyle that became synonymous with the boy-band era was eventually considered an embarrassing relic of the past. GQ even once joked about Justin Timberlake surviving the trend.
But fashion is cyclical, which means eventually everything comes back.
Unfortunately, “everything” apparently includes this.
Kelly Osbourne Opens Up About Her Dramatic Weight Loss
Kelly Osbourne is opening up after receiving months of criticism online about looking severely underweight.
Kelly says this has been one of the hardest years of her life following the death of her father, Ozzy Osbourne, and the end of her engagement.
She says seeing a photo of herself from an awards show in February shocked her. Kelly eventually visited her father’s final resting place and asked for help before connecting with a therapist and life coach she credits with saving her life.
She says she has since gained 30 pounds.
It’s another reminder that you really don’t know what someone else is going through behind the scenes.
Give people some grace.
Selma Blair Suffers Medical Emergency During Flight
Selma Blair reportedly experienced a frightening incident aboard a flight that resulted in her becoming aggressive and eventually being arrested after multiple people were reportedly hurt.
But Blair’s representative says there was more happening than initially appeared.
Her rep told Page Six that Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged behavior.
Blair, who has multiple sclerosis, received immediate medical attention after the plane landed and her representative says she is currently in stable condition.
Another reminder to maybe wait for the full story before deciding exactly what happened.
Michael Jordan’s Dirty Clothes Just Sold for $14 Million
Somewhere in your house there’s probably an old shirt your spouse has been begging you to throw away.
Unfortunately, you are not Michael Jordan.
Clothing worn by Jordan during the 1998 NBA Finals reportedly sold at auction for an incredible $14 million, making it the highest price ever paid for basketball memorabilia.
And because this story needed one more South Florida connection, the buyer is reportedly from Miami.
I won’t give his name.
Mostly because the second your family finds out you have $14 million to spend on somebody else’s dirty clothes, everybody suddenly remembers you owe them dinner.
People Are Lining Up for Trader Joe’s $2.99 Halloween Bags
Forget pumpkin spice. Apparently the hottest Halloween accessory this year is a grocery bag.
Trader Joe’s has released Halloween-themed versions of its wildly popular mini canvas tote bags, and people are already lining up outside stores before they open trying to get them.
The limited-edition bags come in black, green, purple and orange and cost just $2.99.
Trader Joe’s mini totes developed a cult following after going viral a few years ago, so these Halloween versions probably won’t stick around long.
Nothing captures the spirit of Halloween quite like waking up early to fight strangers over a three-dollar tote bag.
