What should have been a celebration for New Kids on the Block turned into a terrifying experience for Donnie Wahlberg.
Just hours after the group wrapped up its 40th and final Las Vegas residency show on Saturday, October 17, Wahlberg’s private jet skidded off the runway during takeoff at Harry Reid International Airport and crashed into a fence.
Thankfully, nobody was injured.
The 57-year-old singer later shared an emotional video from the crash site, revealing that he and his team were on board.
Wahlberg explained that the plane never made it into the air and ran out of runway, narrowly missing construction equipment and several other obstacles.
He credited the pilots with saving everyone’s lives, saying, “These pilots saved our lives.”
The incident temporarily shut down two runways and disrupted flights at the airport.
Wahlberg’s wife, Jenny McCarthy, and several celebrity friends expressed their relief on social media.
Wahlberg says he’s incredibly grateful everyone walked away safely.
