While the rest of the country bundles up for snowy winter fun, South Florida usually trades scarves for flip-flops. But this year, things are cooling down — literally.
That’s right — you can ice skate outdoors in South Florida!
The City of Homestead is turning the impossible into reality with a real-ice rink as part of its “Discover Homestead: Winter Wonderland” celebration at Losner Park. Using technology from Ice-America, the rink’s aluminum floor system keeps the surface frozen — even when temps hit 90 degrees.
❄️ A Winter Wonderland in the Tropics
Starting November 22, families can lace up their skates and glide across a rink surrounded by twinkling lights, live entertainment, and holiday cheer. The event kicks off with Homestead’s annual tree lighting, transforming downtown into a glittering holiday village.
The Winter Wonderland celebration runs through January 18, 2026, and includes:✨ Food vendors & seasonal treats🎶 Musical performances at the historic theater🎁 A holiday bazaar🎄 A Whoville Experience for the kids…and of course, that stunning real-ice rink.
