Apparently we have phone zombies, designated farting areas and pajamas becoming acceptable outdoor clothing. So, everything is going great.
PHONE ZOMBIES
A high school senior has gone viral after posting a video from just the third day of school showing a classroom full of students sitting together in almost complete silence because everyone was staring at their phones.
The video sparked a huge debate online, with people calling the students “mobile zombies” and plenty of adults jumping in to say high school was nothing like this when they were growing up.
Of course it wasn’t. We didn’t have TikTok. We had to stare awkwardly at each other like civilized people.
Another teacher is going viral for introducing her students to the classroom “gas station.”
And by gas station, we mean a designated fart corner.
Instead of letting one go at your desk and immediately blaming the innocent kid next to you, students can get up, walk over to the fart corner, take care of those bubbles in their tummy, spray the area and return to their seats.
Honestly, it’s basically the classroom version of blaming the dog at home, except now the dog has been cleared of all charges.
HOW MANY JOB INTERVIEWS DO WE NEED?
One woman is getting attention online after sharing her experience with a job interview process that just wouldn’t end.
She went through two interviews that she says went great, only to find out there were three more interviews waiting for her.
Five interviews for one job?
At some point, I feel like you should either hire me or admit that we’re dating.
THE BEST FEMALE MUSICIAN OF ALL TIME IS…
An online poll ranking the best female musicians of all time is probably going to have the Swifties asking some questions.
Taylor Swift reportedly doesn’t appear until number 59 on the list, while names including Kelly Clarkson, Cher and Stevie Nicks all landed inside the Top 20.
The Top 5 starts with Dolly Parton at number five, followed by Celine Dion at four, Aretha Franklin at three and Tina Turner at two.
And number one?
Whitney Houston.
Move over, “cringe.” Gen Z apparently has another insult for us to learn.
Calling something “polyester” means it’s fake, cheap, inauthentic, mass produced or trying way too hard to look impressive.
The insult comes from polyester being a synthetic fabric that’s often associated with cheaper fast fashion compared with natural fabrics like cotton, wool or linen.
So if a teenager calls your outfit polyester, apparently they’re not checking the tag.
They’re judging your entire existence.
THE SLEEPY GIRL AESTHETIC
I’m not going to take credit for the latest fashion trend, but I’ve apparently been preparing for it for years.
The Sleepy Girl Aesthetic is all about taking loungewear and pajamas and turning them into everyday outfits.
The secret is accessories. Throw on the right shoes, bag or jewelry and suddenly you aren’t dressed like you’re headed back to bed.
You’re fashionable.
Finally, a trend that rewards exhaustion.
BUMBLE IS CHANGING WHO MAKES THE FIRST MOVE
For more than a decade, Bumble was known as the dating app where women had to make the first move.
That’s changing.
The app has dropped its signature rule and will now allow either person to send the first message after matching.
Bumble says dating habits have changed and users want more flexibility and less pressure. According to the company, 66% of women surveyed said they’d actually prefer receiving the first message.
So we’ve officially gone from worrying about who should make the first move to wondering whether anybody is going to make a move at all.
Dating in 2026 sounds delightful.
