Toyota Is Recalling More Than 600,000 Camrys:
Toyota is recalling more than 600,000 Camry vehicles, including hybrids, because the 7-inch display can go completely blank when the car starts. That can potentially knock out important safety indicators and warnings, including turn signals, hazard lights, seat belt reminders and even the “key left in ignition” buzzer. So if you own a newer Camry and your dashboard suddenly decides it needs some alone time, you may want to check that recall.
The Rock Is Now a Singer:
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has gone from wrestling to acting and now he’s apparently pursuing music. He says he wants to make “old-school soul” with a little country flavor, and one of his songs, “Your Dad,” is a ballad dedicated to his daughters. The Rock describes his singing perfectly, saying he sings from the heart and “in keys that don’t exist.” Honestly, when you’re The Rock, who’s going to tell you you’re off-key?
After nearly a century of lemon-lime goodness, 7UP is changing its taste for the first time in 15 years. The permanently reformulated recipe will dial back the lemon slightly and become more “lime-forward,” reportedly in response to younger consumers wanting stronger citrus flavors. The new formula took two years to develop, and the company insists nothing was broken. Which is great, because changing a soda people already like is always a nice, calm thing the internet handles rationally.
Pepsi Wants to Get in the Shower With You:
Pepsi is officially leaving the soda aisle and heading directly into your bathroom. The company teamed up with beauty brand Glamlite for its first body-care collection, including Vanilla Slushie Body Scrub and Wild Cherry Body Wash. Apparently they spent five years testing more than 3,000 fragrances to get the scents right, and a Pepsi-inspired makeup collection could be next. So yes, you can now shower in Pepsi without having to explain a very unfortunate accident.
Speaking More Languages Could Keep Your Brain Younger:
Here’s another reason to learn a second language: research suggests multilingualism may help protect the brain from age-related decline. Some findings have linked speaking multiple languages with a “younger” biological brain profile, with the effect potentially increasing as you add languages. Which means Jade teaching Ben Spanish isn’t just entertaining anymore. Apparently she’s providing a public health service. So, Ben, prepare yourself: it’s time for your Spanish word of the day.
