Meghan Trainor found a creative way to help her 5-year-old son deal with missing his mom: She made him his very own stuffed Meghan.
The 32-year-old singer revealed that her oldest son, Riley, has been experiencing separation anxiety and recently started pretending some of his stuffed animals were his mom.
So Trainor decided to make things a little more official.
She created a custom stuffed doll that looks like her, complete with glasses, short blonde hair and a familiar smile. Trainor even joked that they nailed her “thin hair.”
Apparently, it worked.
Trainor shared on Instagram that Riley now hugs and kisses the doll when she’s not around. In the video, she asked her son if he thought his new “mama doll” looked like her, and Riley confidently responded, “Yup.”
Trainor shares Riley, 3-year-old Barry Bruce and 6-month-old Mikey Moon with her husband, Spy Kids actor Daryl Sabara.
Fans loved the idea, with some even suggesting Trainor turn the miniature stuffed Meghans into merchandise.
For now, though, this one’s got a very important job: making sure Riley always has a little piece of Mom nearby.
