Spring break in South Florida is looking more structured this year, and both Miami Beach and Fort Lauderdale have clear plans in place.
Miami Beach is continuing the stricter approach that led to calmer seasons in 2024 and 2025. Expect increased police presence, license plate readers, DUI enforcement, security checkpoints at certain beach entrances, and higher parking garage rates during peak weekends. The city is also promoting organized fitness events instead of large street gatherings.
Fort Lauderdale is also increasing security but keeping its welcome message to spring breakers. Officials are encouraging visitors to enjoy the city responsibly while maintaining a visible law enforcement presence during busy weekends.
