If you’re vegan or vegetarian in Miami, turns out we’re one of the better cities in the country for you.
WalletHub released its 2026 list of the Best Cities for Vegans and Vegetarians, and Miami came in at No. 12. Portland took the top spot, followed by Los Angeles and Austin.
Florida did pretty well too, with Orlando at No. 7 and Tampa at No. 10.
As for Miami, we ranked No. 2 for diversity, accessibility and quality, which basically means we have a lot of different plant based options and they’re pretty easy to find.
We also ranked No. 1 for farmers markets and CSA programs per capita and tied for No. 1 for juice and smoothie bars, salad shops and vegetable nurseries.
The downside? Miami ranked No. 91 for affordability. So we have plenty of options… they’re just gonna cost you.
And because I HAD to look, Hialeah came in at No. 63 overall and No. 96 for the percentage of restaurants offering vegetarian options.
So if you’re looking for vegetarian options in Hialeah… maybe check the menu before you leave the house.
