If you’re dreaming of spending the holidays somewhere outside the country, the U.S. Postal Service is making it a little easier to get your passport ready!
USPS is hosting a special passport fair in Miami this Saturday, October 24, to help South Floridians prepare for international travel.
The event will take place at the Miami General Mail Facility Finance Station, located at 2200 NW 72nd Avenue, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Walk-ins are welcome, but you can also schedule an appointment online.
Before heading out, make sure you have everything you need!
Applicants must bring proof of U.S. citizenship, such as a certified birth certificate or previous passport, along with a valid photo ID. You’ll also need photocopies of both documents and a recent passport photo, which can be taken on-site for $15.
Adult passport books cost $130, plus a $35 acceptance fee. Children’s passport books cost $100, plus the applicable $35 acceptance fee. Expedited processing is available for an additional $60.
Parents applying for children under 16 should also be aware that both parents generally need to be present, unless the required consent documentation is provided.
To save time, download your application ahead of time at USPS.com/passport, but don’t sign it until instructed!
