South Florida Could See a “Blood Moon” Next Week!

South Florida, look up! We could get a pretty cool show in the sky next week.

A partial lunar eclipse is happening late Thursday, August 27th into early Friday, August 28th, and we should be able to see it right here in South Florida.

At its peak, about 93% of the moon will be covered by Earth’s shadow, which could give it that reddish, copper color known as a “blood moon.”

The eclipse begins around 10:33 p.m., with the best view expected around 12:12 a.m. It wraps up around 1:51 a.m.

And no, you don’t need eclipse glasses for this one. Just step outside and look up!

Of course, this is South Florida, so clouds could get in the way. But if Mother Nature cooperates, we could be in for a pretty cool view.
