Students Start a Fake Fight at School and Their Principal’s Reaction Goes Viral

A group of Georgia high school students came up with a pretty risky way to surprise their principal for his birthday: They staged a fight.

Students at Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School pretended to start a brawl so Principal Bobby Davis would rush in to break it up.

And it worked.

A now-viral video shows Davis running into the room and grabbing one of the students to separate them. But when he turns around, he realizes the room is filled with students and faculty recording, clapping and getting ready to sing “Happy Birthday.”

His reaction might be the best part. Davis immediately realizes he’s been set up and jumps into one of the student’s arms for a huge hug. Eventually, two students are literally holding their principal in the air while everyone sings to him.

The video has racked up millions of views, but the story gets even sweeter.

The student who came up with the prank, De’Zayviun Watkins, said Davis “single handedly changed me for the better” and that the memories he’s created with him are ones he’ll never forget.

It’s Davis’ first year as principal, but he has deep roots at the school. He graduated from there in 1994 and later returned as a teacher, coach and assistant principal.

Normally, seeing your principal sprint toward you because he thinks you’re fighting is a very bad day.

This time, it turned into a pretty great birthday.
