Some classrooms have a reading corner. Others have a calm down corner. This teacher has a fart corner.
A Houston teacher is going viral after revealing the designated area she created for students who need to pass gas during class. And yes, there are rules.
In the video, the teacher explains that if a student feels one coming, they can simply get up, head over to the designated corner, handle their business, wait about 10 seconds, give the area a little spray and then return to their seat.
Her goal? Keep the smell contained to one part of the classroom and, more importantly, make something completely normal a little less embarrassing for her students.
She later explained that the fart corner isn’t mandatory. Students are still allowed to go to the restroom without asking, and if they choose to take their chances and let one go at their desk, that’s apparently their decision too.
The video has racked up millions of views, with people debating whether the idea is genius or whether voluntarily walking to a designated fart corner in front of a classroom full of kids is basically asking for a nickname you’ll carry until graduation.
Either way, somewhere there’s a kid sitting at the desk closest to the fart corner who would probably like to request a transfer.
