Apparently a Mom Calling Contest Exists and an 8 Year Old Is the New Champion

Solve Decision Fatigue in Household Planning

If you grew up yelling “MOOOOOM!” from another room instead of simply walking 15 feet to find her, apparently you were training for a competitive sport.

Young Iowans recently competed in the annual Mom Calling Contest at the Iowa State Fair, where kids took turns showing off their best techniques for getting Mom’s attention.

And this year’s champion knew exactly how to bring the urgency.

Eight-year-old Vivien Sullivan from Ankeny took home first place with a call inspired by the very event she was attending.

“Mom, Mom! We’re going to be late for the Iowa State Fair! Hurry!”

And apparently she delivered it with enough passion to take home the title.

Honestly, this feels like a competition every child has been preparing for their entire life.

Now we just need the adult version where you yell “MOM!” into the phone because you have a question about a recipe you could’ve Googled.
