Maybe Don’t Throw That Spider Outside

If you’re the kindhearted person who finds a spider in the house, carefully catches it and releases it outside, congratulations: you may have accidentally made things worse.

Experts say many common house spiders have adapted to living indoors, sometimes for generations. Putting them outside suddenly exposes them to predators, weather, pesticides and conditions they’re not equipped to handle.

The good news is most are harmless and actually earn their rent by eating flies, mosquitoes, moths and other bugs.

If you absolutely cannot handle your new eight-legged roommate, experts suggest relocating it to the garage, basement or another quiet part of the house.

So apparently the spider stays. Fantastic.

That Spice Girls Reunion Isn’t Happening... Yet

Spice Girls fans thought they were finally getting the announcement they’ve been waiting for after the group teased something big on social media.

The post said, “No sheet music required but you will need a vinyl or CD player.”

Some fans immediately heard “REUNION TOUR!”

Not quite.

Instead, the Spice Girls are celebrating the 30th anniversary of “Wannabe” with a re-release of All the Singles, featuring B-sides, surprises from the vault and a previously unreleased demo called “Do You Think About Me.”

The full collection arrives in November, with versions reportedly ranging from about $129 all the way up to $381.

Fonzie Almost Took Over Happy Days

Arthur Fonzarelli became one of the most recognizable characters in television history, but Fonzie wasn’t originally supposed to be the star of Happy Days.

Henry Winkler’s character was initially intended to be recurring, but Fonzie became so popular that ABC executives reportedly wanted to rename the entire show Fonzie’s Happy Days.

Thankfully, that didn’t happen.

And decades later, Henry Winkler has somehow managed to make people love the guy behind Fonzie just as much as they loved the character.

Ayyyy.

The Emmys Made Some History

There were plenty of winners at last night’s Emmys, but a couple made television history.

Jean Smart became the first woman to win an Emmy for every season of a show, thanks to her run on Hacks.

Matthew Rhys also accomplished something nobody had done before, becoming the first person to win Best Lead Actor across all three major television genres. He previously won Drama for The Americans and added Comedy for Widow’s Bay and Limited Series for The Beast in Me.

Congratulations to everybody involved.

But personally? The Mariska Hargitay and Taylor Swift skit might have been the real winner of the night.
