During the opening night of her Unraveled Tour in Hartford, Connecticut, the 23-year-old was performing “the cure” when artificial rain started pouring down around her.

That’s when her white dress began to literally dissolve.

As Rodrigo continued performing, pieces of the dress gradually broke apart until it revealed a red corset bodysuit and miniskirt underneath.

And no, this wasn’t a wardrobe malfunction.

The entire thing was planned to tie into the song and the theme of the tour. The transformation played off the idea of becoming “unraveled,” and the custom water-reactive dress was created by designer Hussein Chalayan.

Rodrigo said she had been planning the show in her head for the last year and called seeing everything finally come together a dream come true.

The concert itself features multiple looks and costume changes, but having your dress melt off your body in the middle of artificial rain?

Yeah, that’s going to be a tough costume change to top.
