We had our special pre screening of the new Halloween movie last night and all I can say is...Holy s***!

For a lack of a better term, the movie was amazing. 40 years after the original movie, Halloween, Jamie Lee Curtis returns to reprise her role as “Laurie Strode”. If you haven’t seen the first film *SPOILER* she escapes the rampage of Michael Myers.

In this new film, she’s now the hunter. She’s trained 40 years for his return by making her home a high security, shooter training gun range, and trap-filled environment (if he were to ever return). The movie sheds a light on what a traumatic experience can turn into and the in-sensitivities for other’s to not comprehend the struggle. It has been 40 years since his attacks, however, you can tell it has left a scar.

In one scene in particular, Laurie Strode’s granddaughter says:

“Just get over it...Forget about Michael.”

Of course, Laurie disregards. She’s suffering from major PTSD and she keeps track of when and where he’s getting transferred to as part of her obsession...As you know, the bus crashes....And the movie begins.

It’s gruesome, gory, yet still a HUGE thriller. My legs were shaking up and down through the whole movie....AND THE HOMAGES are EVERYTHING. There is one particular scene (and even some hidden eggs too) that get references from many of the previous movies, even though they had nothing to do with this new sequel. If you’re a true fan, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. Everyone in the theater clapped and it was one of the coolest moments ever. My main thing that I’ll take from this movie is....#GIRLPOWER. That’s all I’ll say about that without spoiling anything!

Definitely an incredible Halloween movie to check out this weekend and totally respects it’s original 1978 version...but it’s not for the faint of heart. Halloween 2018 comes out Oct 19th!
