This year’s GRAMMYs turned out to be a not so GOOD thing for our female artists… in fact, out of all the main categories, only Alessia Cara won a GRAMMY. All the rest were won by male artists… which sparked the hashtag #GRAMMYSSoMale
Well that didn't sit right with the Recording Academy President who defended the night's wins by saying:
“"It has to begin with…women who have the creativity in their hearts and souls, who want to be musicians, who want to be engineers, producers, and want to be part of the industry on the executive level…[They need] to step up because I think they would be welcome."
Well our fav PINK caught wind of that open letter… and got in her feelings about him saying women need to STEP UP.
She tweeted out:
"Women in music don't need to 'step up'—women have been stepping since the beginning of time. Stepping up, and also stepping aside. "Women owned music this year. They've been killing it. And every year before this."
"When we celebrate and honor the talent and accomplishments of women, and how much women step up every year, against all odds, we show the next generation of women and girls and boys and men what it means to be equal and what it looks like to be fair."

What do YOU think? Should females have to “step it up” like the Recording Academy President said?
Either way the GRAMMY ratings are out and they aren't great. The show was watching by almost 20 million people, which is A LOT, but that's down almost 25% from last year's show. It could even be an all time GRAMMYs low. Maybe it's too long?
