Park rangers at the Grand Canyon were searching for a man they said hit a baseball into the Grand Canyon.
The incident happened Sunday afternoon.
The man, who was not identified, was photographed hitting what appeared to be a baseball off a tee near the Yavapai Geology Museum on the canyon’s South Rim.
Officials said they have made contact with the man, but did not give any further details.
Video of the man’s hitting was shared on social media.
Some of the comments on the videocalled it “not that big of a deal” while others said it was a safety issue since “people that are hiking below” could have been hit by the ball, Newsweek reported.
