Kelly Clarkson is in a very public feud with a Brooklyn shop, and it all started over a $15,000 singing bird.
Kelly says she visited Art of Play intending to buy a few things, including an expensive singing and dancing bird automaton. But according to Kelly, an employee treated her like she couldn’t afford it and offered to find her something “comparable.”
She compared the experience to the famous Pretty Woman shopping scene, and her post quickly went viral.
The store responded, saying the bird, named Molly, is actually a one-of-a-kind piece used in their magic shows, permanently attached to the wall and not for sale.
Small problem: Kelly says there was a $15,000 price tag next to it.
She fired back by posting a photo that appeared to show the price and accused the store of now lying about what happened.
The internet is completely divided. Some think Kelly is using her massive platform to attack a small business. Others say being a small business doesn’t give you permission to treat customers poorly.
So now we have Kelly Clarkson versus a Brooklyn toy store over a $15,000 mechanical bird.
Exactly the kind of celebrity feud nobody could have predicted.
