Okay, South Florida, we seriously need some rain.

The National Weather Service in Miami just shared its latest drought update, and basically, our dry situation is getting worse.

Severe drought conditions have now spread east to include all of the Miami metro and coastal areas, along with most of Broward County.

And if you’re like me and have absolutely no idea what “severe drought” actually means, it basically means we haven’t been getting nearly enough rain for a while, and everything from our lawns to our water supply can start feeling the effects.

But there is some good news!

The Weather Prediction Center is forecasting around 1 to 2 inches of rain over the next seven days, mainly across the eastern half of South Florida, with some spots possibly getting even more.

Listen, normally I’m the first person complaining when a random Miami afternoon storm ruins my hair, my plans AND my commute.

But this week? Let it rain. Our grass needs it more than my hair needs to cooperate.
