Hits’ Furry Friend of the Week: TANK!

Seeking a #FureverHome!

Jade and Tank

Adopt a Champion! A smile as big as his heart!! Meet 5-year-old Tank, our favorite smiling pup! He’s grinning because his adoption fee has been covered by Sam Bennett of the Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers! Every time Sam scored a goal, he paid the adoption fee for a pet in need at the Humane Society of Broward County.

For his entire life, Tank has known the comfort of a home. He’s great with kids and adults and is a loyal and loving dog. Tank will sit by your side waiting for pets and he smiles at us every time we walk by the kennel. He grew up with kids, is crate trained, good at the vet, and takes treats so softly you’ll hardly feel it. He knows “go to bed” and comes when called (most of the time). Tank tends to get a little excited when meeting new people but he’s kind, calm and just wants to be near you. He’ll chase a ball if you invite him, but he’s just as happy hanging by your side. A dog meet is recommended as he will most likely do best dogs similar in size to him.

His family is facing a medical crisis, and they made the heartbreaking decision to surrender him so he can get the time and care he deserves. He’s confused, but still smiling and still hoping someone new will walk by and see what a good boy he is.

If you have room in your heart for a dog who’s known love and is ready to give it again, Tank is waiting.

If you are interested in adopting Tank, fill out a pre-adoption application at www.humanebroward.com and come meet him at the Humane Society of Broward County, 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL. The adoption kennels open daily at 11 a.m. Questions? Call 954-989-3977. The vaccine clinic is open 6 days a week, visit the website for hours and services offered.

Adoption Ambassador: If you can provide a temporary home for a large-breed dog, become an Adoption Ambassador for the Humane Society of Broward County. Ambassadors help market the pet through your network of friends and associates, while giving the pet a vacation from the shelter environment. Sometimes a different setting is all that is needed to help our furry friends find their forever home.

Spay/Neuter Services:

Vaccine Clinic: Is open Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 4:30 PM credit cards only, no cash. This is a walk-in service and you may experience a wait of up to an hour. All cats must be in carriers and dogs on a leash at all times. If you have a retractable leash, please keep it short.

Animal Admissions: The Admissions Department is open by appointment only. Please call 954-266-6873 and allow 48 hours for a call back. Closed on major holidays.

Foster Care: If you can provide a foster home for a cat or large-breed dog, please visit the HSBC website and complete a foster application.

The Humane Society of Broward County is always in need of new or gently used towels and washcloths. (They don’t need any blankets or pillows.) Donations can be dropped off any day outside of the main entrance.
