Florida is apparently serving more than beaches and cafecito because when it comes to college, we’re doing something right.

A new SmartAsset study looked at more than 500 public colleges and universities across the country to see where students are getting the most out of their education and what they’re paying for. They compared cost of attendance, graduation rates and how much former students are earning 10 years after first enrolling.

And Florida showed OUT because three of our universities landed in the Top 10 nationwide.

The University of Florida took the No. 1 spot in the entire country, with a 91% graduation rate and alumni earning a median of more than $71,000 after 10 years.

Now, as an FIU girl, this is where I need a second to brag. Florida International University came in at No. 8 in the COUNTRY. Paws up! 🐾💙💛 FIU has a 74% graduation rate, with former students earning a median of more than $60,000 after 10 years.

And UCF made sure Florida had one more spot in the Top 10, coming in at No. 10.

But Florida wasn’t done. USF came in at No. 11, UNF landed at No. 23 and FAU right here in South Florida ranked No. 32.

So while Florida might have your wallet fighting for its life everywhere else, at least when it comes to getting a degree, our universities are giving us something to brag about.
