Apparently, being Matthew McConaughey is impressive, but being the guy who starred in a movie with Jennifer Lopez is even better.
During an appearance on Josh Horowitz’s “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, McConaughey revealed that name-dropping JLo once helped get him out of what he described as a “major, major mess” during a late-night police stop in Mexico.
McConaughey said he was driving a nice truck when officers pulled him over, and things started getting a little tense. As he reached for his wallet, he decided to try a different form of identification.
Jennifer Lopez.
McConaughey asked the officers if they knew JLo and whether they’d seen the 2001 romantic comedy “The Wedding Planner.” He then revealed that, yes, HE was the guy from the movie.
Apparently, that was all they needed to hear.
The traffic stop quickly transformed into a celebrity meet-and-greet, with the officers taking pictures with McConaughey before letting him continue on his way.
No ticket. No trouble. Just some photos and a newfound appreciation for the power of JLo.
