Alvarez struck gold playing the Florida Lottery’s 100X THE CASH Scratch-Off game. Rather than receiving payments over time, she chose a lump-sum payout of $1,280,000.

She purchased the winning ticket at Government Discount on Northwest 7th Street in Miami, earning the store a $4,000 bonus commission for selling the lucky ticket.

The 100X THE CASH game has been a popular choice among lottery players, offering over $243.4 million in cash prizes, including multiple $2 million jackpots.
