Coca-Cola is hoping to convince people that the most important notification isn’t on their phone—it’s the people sitting around the dinner table.

The beverage giant has launched a new global campaign called “The World Will Wait,” encouraging people to slow down, step away from their screens and make time for shared meals with family and friends.

The campaign is aimed primarily at Gen Z and Millennials, who Coca-Cola says often feel torn between busy schedules, work demands and the desire for genuine face-to-face connection.

To drive the message home, Coca-Cola is releasing two short films that highlight people choosing dinner over distractions. One of the campaign’s slogans sums it up perfectly: “No one ever said, ‘This meal could have been an email.’”

Another ad reminds people that “Laundry can wait. Fried chicken and Coca-Cola can’t.”

The company is also leaning into the popular gaming term “AFK” (Away From Keyboard) by encouraging influencers to embrace logging off and spending uninterrupted time with the people they care about.

Along with the commercials, Coca-Cola plans to roll out digital activations and outdoor advertisements that reinforce the idea that some moments are simply too important to postpone.

The campaign officially launches worldwide on August 3 and serves as a reminder that while emails, texts and chores will still be there later, sharing a meal with the people you love shouldn’t always have to wait.
